Am I correct that other than the lack of a shutter and the fact that they are flat field, process lenses from a newspaper or print shop style copy camera will work just fine for traditional large...
I am hoping that someone in our group might help with finding the tiny double bubble levels for their cameras such as the SC series or SCX. I have emailed calumet in the U.K., but response yet. Do...
Unless you are doing very close up anatomical mages, you probably don't need to worry about a bellows factor.
I would suggest buying a decent meter like a used spot meter or luna pro instead of...
Any ideas what brand this is? Help please.
I am asking help in identifying the brand of this metal 8x10 back. I thought at first it was a Cambo, but the mount plate isn't right for that system (no notches). Attached are an overall view plus...
I need some help identifying and 8x10 back before I put it up for wale. I though at first is was a cambo, but it doesn't have the Cambo notches and has more rounded corners that don't fit either. ...
I can't help analyze when it is happening, but when you go to print these, if you run a finger along side your nose or another oily part of your face and then rub that into the scratches, it will...
Ball heads are a lousy choice for large format. I've never yet used one that I could get to zero out on level. The bogen 210 is wonderful for three axis gross and very fine adjustments on a drive...
I sold my 4x5 Korona a few years ago. Wish I had it back. The only drawback I found was bellows draw. I could notuse my 90mm lenses on it, only those in normal and tele ranges.
I used a very dark walnut product from Old English to refinish both my Century camera and stand.a bit of wd-40 applied to the axles helped with squeaks on all four wheels I left the treads of the...
You might check with Ivan's Camera. He found a Zone Vi bag bellows for a friend of mine traveling Europe. I Understand that whole transaction went quite well.
totally agreed. I had to do the same with my Berlbach although it was no where near this weathered. Anyway a very fine grit sandpaper followed by a refinish and furniture oil worked beautifully.
The Ozark Mountains are at their finest and western Arkansas with some really great state parks like Mount Nebo and Devils Dan great vistas wonderful waterfalls and swimming holes fairly easy hikes...
Does anyone have hus emaill address that they could send to me
Sirious, I have a JOBO CPP2 system advertised in the for sale section and it includes the 3010 tank. Take a look and maybe we can do business. I also have several other darkroom items available if...
zMy opening page for this site no longer even displays a private message heading. What gives?
okay, Thank you. Please consider raising the limits on inbox numbers. Mine only had 21 active messages but 89 that were stored in a blank folder ( not by me) that effectively blocked me for using...
IT IS 417766-0511 IN sPRINGFIELD, mo. Thanks for catching that.
I am asking for help from the general membership.
I was contacted by member DEVAL about a Jobo CPP-2 system I have that he requested information about. I hav tried to respond, but my replies have...
I have been trying to respond to someone who sent me a PM regarding a JOBO system I have for sale and the system seems to be blocked in some way. All of my attempted responses are not visible on...
Thanks everyone. I remember having the problem DrTang describes many years ago when I used Bowens Monolights. Having to pull them out a bit was routine if I wanted to get contact. That isn't...
Thanks for the warnings, gentlemen, but my question was and is about cleaning the inside of the socket, NEVER about trying to repair it myself. I am well aware of the lethality of the capacitors.
Thanks for the advice, Randy.
I have very limited knowledge of electronics, but if a wire was loose, would that not also prevent the flashes from firing from the test button? That works...
A great friend recently gave me two Calumet Travelites, a 750 and a 250, both made by Bowens.
all of the normal test procedures work perfectly for setting power, on off switches, modeling light...
Looks a good deal like my SCX which is labeled on the front end of the rail. Does yours not have that front cap? I think that more of the SC series may have also been labeled there.
First guess would be to remove the back or just push the bellows a bit out of the way and feel for any screw heads below where the levels are mounted.
The bulb man, Reno Nv. I bought a new bulb from them a couple of years ago for only $29.99. No idea if the price is still the same.
Try Cameraeccentric.com.
Seth seems to have a ton of info on old cameras of many varieties.
I have the same camera. I also have a best friend who is a brilliant machinist who has all the bells...
Wonderful decision
Do you need a week? I've been there five or six times and wish I could just move there permanently. Between there and the Tetons just to the south, there is a whole career of possible images and...
First of all, that is a great meter and it is worth a bit of investigation to see if you have just a simple electrical problem.
Last week, my Pentax V (similar) was having problems that turned out...
You don't mention if you will use multiple colors, but the Chroma green would work around that as suggested.
When I had my portrait studio, another friend had experimented with upside down...
Lawrence Photo in Springfield, Mo announced today that they will close sometime in May. While their darkroom and film sections had dwindled drastically over the last few years, some things were...
I can only speak of my satisfaction with the Zone VI which is ongoing after more than twenty years of both heavy duty professional architectural work as well as quite a lot of field work for personal...
This idea obviously will not prevent wind acting directly on the camera, but you guys got me thinking about a solution to anchoring the tripod....at least on soil. I'm going to buy one of those big...
Sal, I beg to differ in the sense that the one segment of the web site is entirely devoted to just that and is therefore titled "For Sale/Wanted". If that did not exist, you would be correct, but...
Seriously over thought choice to wait a week between bumps. When you are selling, exposure is everything. After a week, an item could be buried 10 or 15 pages down. Three days would be more than...
Ben,
She has a classic look of the late brilliant Lillian Gish. Any chance she might be a descendent?
Alex. This is magical. Total congratulations on a brilliant job.
