  1. Re: Cc401 needs long tripod head screw - what tripods are recomended

I found something that really helped with my CC401 and my Tiltall. I also found the Tiltall's screw to just barely go into the female end, and never had great confidence in it.

    Looking at tripod...
  2. Re: A-little-history-on-infrared-flash-photography/

Well, I have the necessary gear. I picked up a Sunpak 622 with an assortment of interchangeable heads, and one was the IR head.

    I have pseudo-IR film (SFX & Konica 750) but haven't ventured into...
  3. Re: Cc401 needs long tripod head screw - what tripods are recomended

To answer the OP's question about a tripod/head that works well with the CC401, I had the same issue, and I got an original (Marchoni) Tiltall, and it works well. So, I'd recommend getting a Tiltall....

This is from some miscellaneous 35mm camera. My guess is 1972-74. If anyone can recognize the school (college?) it would be cool.

I have just reading all 61 pages of this thread, and it's awesome.

Re: Film Holders Scratching my Negs (?)

Some more reading lead me to this: http://www.apug.org/forums/viewpost.php?p=1953704326 which specifically states that rubber bands will leave a stripe on the base side, so there we have it!

Re: Film Holders Scratching my Negs (?)

The film is old Kodak Super-XX, expired in the 70's, so who knows.

This is a possibility, as the rubber bands are pretty much in the location of the abrasions, but I think* I had them show up...

I guess abrasion may be a better descriptor, but they are permanent. Yes, they are a lot wider then a typical scratch, as wide as 2mm. While they are all similar, they are definitely not identical,...

Re: Film Holders Scratching my Negs (?)

I think you may have something there. I just pseudo-loaded/exposed/unloaded each of my film holders (10) with some unscratched negatives, and was not able to scratch them. I them took my fingernail...

  18. Re: 90mm Caltar/Grandagon on a Calumet 4x5 - Lensboard?

    Scanning & Stitching troubles

A year ago, I never thought I'd be shooting 4x5, so at that time, the Canon 9000F II fit my needs just fine. Now, not so much. So I understand I have to make two passes for the 4x5, but I'm having a...

And, in Jon's link, the recessed lensboard is recommended....
  26. Re: 90mm Caltar/Grandagon on a Calumet 4x5 - Lensboard?

    Thanks Kuzano.

It's really a guess that it's the CC401. The only label/markings are on the front standard, and it just says 'Calumet Camera 4x5'.
