To answer the OP's question about a tripod/head that works well with the CC401, I had the same issue, and I got an original (Marchoni) Tiltall, and it works well. So, I'd recommend getting a Tiltall....

This is from some miscellaneous 35mm camera. My guess is 1972-74. If anyone can recognize the school (college?) it would be cool.

I have just reading all 61 pages of this thread, and it's awesome.

I've found lots of film in old cameras, and it feels like Xmas when I do. I can hardly wait to develop them to see what presents...

Some more reading lead me to this: http://www.apug.org/forums/viewpost.php?p=1953704326 which specifically states that rubber bands will leave a stripe on the base side, so there we have it!

The film is old Kodak Super-XX, expired in the 70's, so who knows.

It's really a guess that it's the CC401. The only label/markings are on the front standard, and it just says 'Calumet Camera 4x5'.
