Re: New Razzle owner - advice needed

Seems to me the problem is not either of the cameras, but in the development of the negs. There's many problems evident here, like dirty/contaminated water, careless handling and staining, maybe you...

Re: New Razzle owner - advice needed

And if you have any questions, just contact the builder. Google 'Razzle 4x5' and check for the contact details. It's a rangefinder, so you don't need to use the ground glass screen!

I second Frank Marshman. He helped me out many years ago with a Bronica shutter problem. Great guy.

  7. Re: What is so great about a converted Polaroid camera?

I think it's due to the big bright single window rangefinder that allows for fast handheld use without need for a ground glass or tripod.
They're also one of the lightest 4x5's I know of.

Seems to be quite a few uneducated LF's out there. Why is it Chris Usher has five converted Polaroids?

  11. Re: Are people really paying $1000+ for Speed Graphic and Aero Ektar combos?

I don't really see any problem with paying a grand for a matched pair of legends. We would pay more than this for a mediocre DSLR with kit lenses. With a Speed and Aero Ektar combo you're gonna be...

Corran, I have several of the converted Polaroids so I can shed some light on them. The 110B and 900 finders are exactly the same, both having a single viewing window. The 110A, 150, 800 and 120...

  26. Re: buying an Alpenhause for hand-held, tips?

    You're correct.

The film plane is moved back 25mm. Mine has this front standard and it's fitted with a 150mm lens and works extremely well.

  27. Re: buying an Alpenhause for hand-held, tips?

One of my 900's has a Symmar S fitted and with and with a few milimeters machined off the filter thread it will close nicely. Sironars have a larger rear element allowing for a more compact front...
  28. Re: buying an Alpenhause for hand-held, tips?

Please forget all about the original 'Electric Eye' as it's a complete piece of crap. The only way to use a 900 is to replace the front standard assembly with one like the Razzle has.

    GF.
  29. Re: buying an Alpenhause for hand-held, tips?

I think it's due to the design of the bed and front standard. It's a totally different system to the 110B and not readily adjusted for infinity focus. The gearing on the 900 is rack and pinion too,...

Re: Shen Hao 612 back forward focusing?

If you have an accurate measuring device, the distance from the face of the holder (where it contacts the camera back) to the film surface should be 5mm. Load a dummy film and check to see.
