Hi David,
Thanks! All of the photos are from film damaged in the fire. The results are pretty much straight prints from the negatives. I decided early on that the story is the damage to the film so...

Hi gang,
Gallery 1871 in Chicago will show my latest work with an opening on July 13 from 5-7pm. The show will be up until September 9. All of the photos are from film that was unexposed and...
Hi Chauncey, I put them face up.
…and a further detail, the wrinkles are always on the short side of the paper. Thanks
Please do not tell anyone that I was once an English teacher. I obviously cannot communicate clearly. The Seal press says “Dry Mount Press” on it, which leads to confusion. I am placing 16x20 prints...
Hi Xkaes and all,
I’m sorry as I didn’t add all info that may be relevant. I do not have a problem with 8x10 prints but with 16x20 and 20x24. I am using a Seal Dry Mount Press with 2 acid free...
My mistake and to clarify, I am not dry mounting the prints. I simply put them in the Seal Dry Mount Press. Sorry, I will try to be more clear next time.
Hi gang,
Perhaps someone can solve one of those little mysteries I’ve never figured out myself. Why do I sometimes get wrinkles on the edges of my dry mount pressed prints, and why do I sometimes...
Didn't think to pull out my phone this morning, but progress continues. The floor is poured and being buffed. We shoot large format; when we rush, what happens?
I offer suggestions so rarely because I know so little. Given that, I would check that the lens board is mounting properly to the front standard.
I too use Edgar Prauss, as long as 10-15 years ago and as recently as yesterday.
Hi Merg, thanks for the advice. I appreciate the help. Sincerely, Chris
Hi Drew,
Thanks for responding. The bottle says that it contains Sodium Sulfite and Benzotriazole, but gives no indication of quantity.
Thanks,
Chris
Hi gang,
I have just about used up the last of my Edwal's Liquid Orthazite. Does anyone know the formula for it? I hate the idea of wasting materials trying to replicate something when the answer is...
I take a peek about daily
Thanks for the help!
Dear gang,
My nifty Polaroid 110b 4x5 conversion needs a replacement bellows. Anyone know of a source?
Thanks,

Hi Gang,
Thank you for your thoughtful responses. They certainly solved a few mysteries.

Hi Gang,
Anyone have an Arca-Swiss quick release plate recommendation for 4x5 (Walker Titan SF)? On a related question, what are the screw sizes used in the base of cameras (my guess is 1/4" and...
one last note, the camera has an optional wide angle recessed lens board that is very clever and easy to use. I use it with a 75 mm and it accommodates everything except a very extreme movement. The...
I too use the 45Sf and it's simply the best 4x5 I've worked with. It is extremely rigid and the movements are quite precise. The integrated cover over the ground glass and the abs construction make...
Congratulations! ...and Randy, if I can pedal over to LUMA, you can pedal over to LUMA!
Renato,
I think I have a copy of what you need. It's a PDF so I think I need an email address to send it.
Chris
Aimed especially at Randy...Columbia College has (or used to have) one of the 20x24's. Track down Peter LeGrand or Dawood Bey and they can tell you all about it. A couple hundred a pop? Measure twice...
Dear Will,
Postprandially.
Sincerely,
Chris
Hi,
I too have used a Shen Hao and loved the thing. I also experienced similar light leaks. My problem came from not reattaching the bellows properly. The two screws that hold the bellows to...
Regardless of how this all pans out, communications with and within Fuji seem awkward. My impression is that our friends at Badger Graphics were trying to keep us informed, and given the source,...
Hi to all following this thread,
I just popped into the Art Institute of Chicago to see for a second time "Abelardo Morell:The Universe Next Door"...
Estimado Terrencio (couldn't resist, I've been studying Spanish all morning),
I travel to Peru with LF 4-6 times a year. Flying into Lima with film or equipment is not a problem, but leaving can...
I'm always late to the threads. Alex Kotlowitz "The Other Side of the River: A Story of Two Towns" will assure you there is plenty of ruin (porn?) in Benton Harbor. I grew up at the southern end of...
Because I can.
Dear friends and colleagues,
Once again, I would like to thank our friends at The George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film for their hospitality in hosting my presentation...
I go there a lot; in fact, I should say I am going there in about an hour. Especially during the week or now that the kiddies are heading back to school, it should be you and only a few others. I...
Hi Michael,
I bought the Photobackpacker/Red Wing last month and just returned from Peru. I greatly prefer the Photobackpacker to my old Lowepro (backpack with wheels) whatever it was. The new...
Brian,
Did you get anywhere with the LPL lens board for the Schneider-Kreuznach Componon 150mm f/5.6 enlarging lens? I have the same problem.
Thanks,
Chris
I don't know if something like this exists, so I have no idea what to call it. I would like some sort of timer mechanism that closes the shutter after a 5 or 6 hour exposure (shutter set to "T"). ...
Vinny and Ian, thanks for your advice.
Chris
Hi everyone,
I recently bought a Screen DT-S1045AI (it is very big for an apartment). Although I asked if it came with the software, I perhaps did not specify Screen software for this scanner. ...
I bought a washer on ebay a few months ago and it came without a basket (turns out I bought just the washer when I bought a washer. Live and learn). I bought the basket from B and H. The basket...
Dear Sean,
Is the woman in photo #2 Sandi Wheaton, Canadian photographer extraordinaire?
Thanks,
