On a somewhat OT note, does anyone know whether Wista still manufactures Shanel 5 shutters? Those seem pretty durable.

Here's a (presumably) rarely seen lens:
COLOR-TAMRON 6.8/300 14/530
I wonder what's the coverage of this one - around 87 degrees and less if using only one element for the 530mm length?
Not that easy, but doable. Instead of agitating, you just roll it back and forth on a table, making sure the drum makes a little over two complete revolutions. The key is finding a spare lid and...
Modularity of Sinar doesn't necessarily mean high cost per individual item. I was lucky to get 10.75" rear frame, 8x10 standard, rear P carrier with minor damage, front P carrier with even smaller...
Learoyd now uses a 1800mm Apo-Ronar and a custom-built tent:

Directly from Agfa-Gevaert in Belgium. They're a little slow replying to mails, but will eventually send you their list of overstock films and papers, with no minimum order quantity for most items.
None I found, but there are tons of examples of the 400 ASA version, X400 - repackaged as "Rollei Digibase CN200". Whether the difference is just less grain in favour of X100, I don't know.
If you can live with higher contrast of unmasked colour negative film, here's what's available directly from Agfa in Belgium:

In the last year and a half I developed cca. 120 sheets of 8x10" EFKE 100 in a Jobo 3004. Pre-soaked to wash off anti-halation layer, souped in Adonal and fixed in Fomafix. Not a single scratch.
The internal tubes are barrel-shaped and consist of two symmetrical pieces glued together. Here's what the guts of a 3004 drum look like:

Here's a great video on Diamantino Labo, a darkroom/lab in Paris, run by Diamantino Quintas, an experienced printer. Enjoy!

Also, enlarging a 6x4,5 negative to, say, 30x40" will require a Rodagon-G or G-Componon lens, if you want utter sharpness. Not really so for a 4x5", and especially not 8x10" negative. The 80/2.8 I...
Ian, that's quite an exhaustive bevvy of info. Wish I had better pics, but these three are all I found, from an archived ad dating to about 2006 in Serbia, which just said "20x25 cm studio camera...
Several Hitachi 1TB hard drives in external enclosures w/ Firewire connection (Mac-only user) store 'em all. Incidentally, my drum scans of 4x5s are exactly 1GB. I keep every raw scan, as well as all...
Have you ever come across or heard of a dual-rail, non-folding, non-field 8x10" camera that accepts modern plastic 8x10" holders?
Thanks,
Marin
Unfortunately, I don't.
Ian, does the springback on this camera looks familiar to you? It seems to be mostly metal or all-metal (apart from the ground glass, of course), but whether it was added to the frame as a DIY job...
It just looks too good to be a DIY hack, and according to the almighty Web, Prinz View in 8x10 was something altogether different. No results at all for Brand Press View / 17 in 8x10. The back...
Does anyone recognize this camera? It's most likely 8x10" format, but I'm pretty lost as to who could have manufactured it.

Thanks. You could try first building a cone-shaped extension from 235mm square to about 254mm square and then work on that, using the holder you have as a guide for dimensions.
Trond, I don't have this camera, have never seen one, but I'm curious - what are the dimensions of the back? (i.e., a and b - see the attachment)

Agreed, transferring the lens cells from Prontor Pro 1S to Copal #1 is out of the question. As for this lens' performance, I've seen it on about a hundred Efke 100 negatives I developed, all shot...
Louis, that's some very sound reasoning, and, in fact, I completely agree with you. BTW, no shipping is required as I would transfer the cells myself, since I know the owner personally. I guess a few...

Gentlemen, thank you for your answers. As I'm essentially borrowing the lens cells of the 155/6,8 lens from someone who is reluctant to borrow the shutter as well, I'll just make sure the shims, if...
A quick question about the Grandagon-N 155mm, currently in a Prontor Professional 1S. Do the lens elements simply fit in a Copal #1 (from a 180mm Apo-Symmar), or is there perhaps a need for spacers...
Well, I'm in the EU.
Man, what a thread. Kudos to anyone involved in bringing this machine back to life. Last week I witnessed an L1840 for the first time - it surely is an absolute beast. The example I was shown has at...
Thanks, I'll have that in mind if it starts squeaking big time. I'll do the first proper test when the rollers arrive from Ireland, as my only two drums I can use with the processor are two Expert...
Maybe try it with a 29160N card. Those were made with the 68-pin screw-type connector as well as the 50-pin clip-type connector. I have both types in two G4 Macs and they perform the same with my...
If your Screen scanner uses a CCD assembly that's built similar to the one on my Microtek 9800XL, the sensor is well protected. Could be something on the filter in front of the sensor, but, as Corran...
Update - everything cleaned up beautifully ;) After very careful scrubbing with cca. 10% hydrochloric acid, which removed some of the heaviest deposits, I went with Jobo's recommendation: Processor...
Having the 4300 miles distance from my neck of the woods to New York in mind? :)
S/N # 22862 , new-style lift with black clips and black cog.
The gunk is currently being scrubbed out with diluted hydrochloric acid (don't worry, I have thick long gloves). I tested the...

So, a couple of questions:
1) What to use for cleaning? Citric acid dissolved in warm water seems to be suggested by many, followed by gentle scrubbing with a bit of soap. Should that...

Recently I did 30 16-bit scans of 4x5" transparencies (Astia 100F, some Astia 100 and some Provia 100F) on my "silly little" Scanmate 3000 with a ColorQuartet 5.3.1. All the transparencies were very...
Steve, do you perhaps know the designation code of this type of Lexan?
