From time to time I also have this problem. Good ideas mentioned here for me to try. What I have done up to now is use a small piece of sticky tape to raise the edge [tape preblotted on shirt to...
I have been using the Epson Stylus Photo R2880 for several alt processes e.g. Cyanotype, Kallitype, and recently Carbon Transfer. If I were buying now I'd get the new model already recommended to...
Sergey: Several years ago I had a terrible time getting the New Cyanotype to give consistent results on many types of paper. I was just about to give up but decided to try the Ware recommended paper...
This looks very similar to an iris I purchased from Surplus Shed several years ago. Haven't looked to see if SS still handles them.
Very good quality for sure ... J
I was lucky to take the course on carbon printing in Toronto last week with Sandy King hosted by Bob Carnie at Elevator Digital. What an awesome experience.
The show Sandy mentions of images from...
Sounds awful. I have only used Pictorico Ultra Premium OHP Transparency Film with silver printing. I have used the PDN color ink process and more recently the Ware process using black inks to make...
I had a shutter timer arrive in the mail this week which was built by the Wally above. Very nicely made, simple to use, and gives fractional readout as well as s. I look forward to putting all my...
I don't think you can get rid of inkjet dithering, it is the result of the 3pL ink drops being laid down. Try doing your alignment on the transparency film you are going to use, I find the...
I'd like one too please Wally.
ASAP :) ... thanks ... J
Mark, I have been scanning film exposed with soft focus lenses for a while and understand what you are saying. I try to obtain an unmanipulated scan: no clipping, no sharpening, no ICE, no nothin',...
Hi Brian
I have had a 5X7 Wisner Tech Field for a few years and am extremely happy with it. I paid $1400 and then $250 for a 4X5 reducing back.
Hope you find a happy buyer to satisfy the seller...
Besides the "TruthBeauty" book mentioned, my favourite book on Pictorialism is another exhibition calalogue "Impressionist Camera: Pictorial Photography in Europe" published by Merrell 2006 [ISBN 1...
Yes John, I followed that fella's suggestions and used my Canon DSLR to test some focal plane shutters on Graflex cameras. Worked great after a bit of fiddling.
I had done some work on one of...
I have always been very surprised by the lack of apparent effect of age on Lith developer stock A and B solutions. I have used the Maco products, the Fotospeed LD20 and some Moersch stuff. All have...

Hi Jon
I hope I’m not too late with my 2c worth. I have been using APHS for just a short while to tame some DIY lenses that I have. Similar to your plans I also use Rodinal 1:150, one shot. I...
Well Maris, I much appreciate your fact filled reply. I will cogitate.
I like your advice "choose your poison". I have been trying to come up with a test chart to indicate to me the relative...
Thanks so much Bruce. I got my totally unexpected CD in the mail yesterday (Thurs 10) here in Canada (Ottawa, ON). So I don't think all of Canada Post's employees conform to your father-in-law's...
In the last year, I have built a few such constructs in plumbing pipe. I determined spacing by trial and error using the projected image on a wall. I wanted to be a little more analytical and so...
Ed, won’t a #3 Alphax shutter cost you way more than the $25 for the Raptar elements? If it is of use to you deciding on a shutter, the diameter of the thread area of both front and rear elements is...
Hi Ed:
Last month I couldn’t resist the temptation of the Rapter lens set you mentioned from Surplus Shed for $25. I don’t know what shutter they fit in and couldn’t find anything useful in the...
Hi Rippo:
I'm more than an "LF Greenhorn" and even worse building lenses! On the ones I've assembled in plumbing pipe (also inspired by Green's Primitive Photo book), I have used plastic sheet for...

Doug Kennedy also gets my vote. He made me a 11X14" frame. Beautiful carpentry, split back with even pressure from 3 very sturdy springs, built to last. If I ever needed another one, I'd...
Good news joe, thanks. I can be grumpy in Ottawa without proper B/W supplies. I have had to use Freestyle or others to get Kentmere in the past.
Can you please give the coordinates of this...
Hi Alec:
I have a TF Wisner 5X7 #778 and yours does sound a "kinda strange". I have been unable to find out how old my camera is. I do have rear rise and tilt, including a geared backwards tilt. ...
