my sinar plate says +3 diopter on the sticker and says the 4.25 is for near sighted people
I guess I need a less than +3 to focus from further away bu I'm not sure

the shims i’m referring to are the ones between cell and shutter
in the case of my 210macro it’s in a Sinar DB shutter
but it’s the same sort that’s in a copal or compur...

I have been tray processing for years but recently got given some "Hewes" brand 8x10 film holders which I am considering using in 5L deep tanks
they have clips on 4 corners and and 3 of them...
I'm pretty sure this is used by film lighting techs called "blacktak". it's basically 2" black foil with high temp glue
should be able to find it by the roll at film supplie shops
