Or you could also get a Shen Hao XPO45 which accept a Sinar shutter albeit with restricted front movements for field work.
It is of course a lot more expansive than a used Sinar F or F2 as you...

Should will call it - luck of the draw - as we can also add sample to sample variation.
Would you say that there is a good chance that an Ektar 203/7.7 will be decently sharp wide open and as there...
Which complicate matters further for un coated lenses, as to me a lens stopped down to 6.3 or 7.7 is not the same than a lens wide-open at the same apertures.
I often like the look of un coated...
Thank you very much.
I just found an old Dial-set Compur on eBay to move the 1938 Tessar 135/4.5 from a Sinar Db board to it.
It has I think ten aperture blades so I am looking forward to it.

Did think about it like one...
You get more delicate tones and I am more in your face.
Likely be able to use controlled lightning would be great and I am sure that after looking at all the set-ups...
Not to the caliber of Jonathan's but a few addition from this week-end playing some more with un-coated lenses.

Thanks Jim. You won't remember it, but as a beginner in a new field, I always think that I screw-up something. I will take the opinion of the master as money in the bank and use the lens as the...
Another new lens to test. Not a very Christian one.
Lens cells are a Dialyte Kodak Agnastigmat 152/7.7 but the barrel is likely from a B&L Tessar f6.3.

I got some lens cells from afriednly forum member for a CZJ Tessar 135/4.5 that looks dated 1938. I put it ona Sinar DB shutter and tried it out.
I love it.

Ian I could not reply to your PM as you mail box is full.
I posted here as as I do not want to seem rude by not answering you right away.:
Hello Ian,
Thank you very much, that is...
I have taken some shots last night:
Wide open

F/11
132599
F/8
132600
Ok so I switched the front and back cells which should be identical in terms of glass.
This allows both cells to seat properly - screwed in - and the iris to operate.
Here are photos of the lens:...
I was afraid of that....
I bought it from Jim's Camera in Seattle. The store itself is closing but he is still selling on-line.
I already accepted the partial refund. The lure from old barrel...
I will post some tonight after work.

Hello,
I need some help and guidance.
I purchased a Kodak Anastigmat 152mm f7.7 in barrel - at least that was it was advertised as.

Yes that is what I forgot to mention, this was for shots with specular highlights - flowers/bushes wet with dew in early morning raising light . I found that uncoated lenses seem to have a "nice"...
Thanks Ken.
I did find that under f11 the CZJ 250, 180 or 135 where a little bit soft anyway.
On a slightly different topic I have been thinking about your comments on aperture blades today...

Hello,
I just purchased a Kodak Anastigmat 152mm f7.7 in barrel from Jim's Camera. I have not received it yet but it should nicely complement the Kodak Anastigmat 203mm f7.7 mounted on a Sinar DB...

Aside the usual "I pat your back and you pat mine", the new series (stills + flowers) that you have been posting since your return are an example to follow in terms of creativity and...
The name is DIGNITET.
While you mention it, the set of paper drawers with the printer on top is also from Ikea.
I think that it fits a 16x20.
They have some very nice wall mounts with a steel cable that I find useful to let prints dry out of the way. Or just let them hanging fro a while until you decide which keep, which needs touching-up,...
Thank you very much.

It is non folding, very sturdy and the ergonomics just work better for me.
