Fomatone classic is my favorite as well and it responds very well with toning.
Ilford Art 300 for the rag paper is the option but you can also use any rag paper and coat with liquid emulsion (Adox...
Long time ago I had a gem and it kills me that I sold it.
Docter-Wetzlar Apo germinar W8 240mm. Coverage on 8x10 was astonishing.
Now prices are just crazy.
Sorry very busy preparing the show not online often.
Thank you all !
Anyone in Paris ? Upcoming exhibition.

Ian,
Yup I was blown away the first time I saw them. As opposed to a classic double exposure, this impressive build-up brings thickness to something...ethereal !
Our show is up to August 25 in...
A monograph with some examples.

True. Christophe Le Devehat does some amazing exposures with sometime 200 shots on film. It becomes pointillisme.
We just did an exhibition together and was amazed by his series. Just crazy when...
Double exposure has been there since the beginning of photography. As always starting by accident then used extensively by the "Avant garde", Bauhaus, Dada movements and so on.
Some of the most...
Very nice Dan. There was a picture of Ansel Adams in his darkroom with the same kind of setup.
Will,
Paper is my obsession and treasure ! What you see is only 11x14... Lith made me look for all kind of papers to get different textures or colors. When I decide which paper I use for a series I...
30x40 that what is all about 8x10 and it shines
To avoid harassment in Los Angeles, it is to be the fastest possible when I decide to take a picture. Meaning no tripod, this is where the graflex super D shines. You can really act fast.
No matter...
I'm in France right now for a show but here are a few pics of my darkroom and I changed the setup since then by removing the UV burner to a different room, putting away the focomat that I am using...
The thing most frustrating for me in 8x10 is that I dont have an 8x10 enlarger. Yes a contact print is beautiful but making a mural print from an 8x10 negative is where it really explodes in your...
I shoot most of the time 4x5 and then run into an 8x10 crisis. When the crisis is over, I'm back to 4x5... Until the next one.
Completely irrational and personal. So everybody is right in his own...
Been using LF, MF and smaller all my pro life working first in press then some corporate. Photo assistant in 1986, then press agency member in 1992.
Had to go digital for a short time, hated how...
I really like these tanks. I hold 2 of them to process 8 sheets. Contrary to my roll processing tanks for these I go for a strong agitation. I had some issue on my first try and found out the key was...
Super D is the workhorse. Modified RB with Prism and Ektar 8 1/2 is the backup.
And the Crown is another backup, kind of last line of defense...!232760
Not 5x7 but two types of 4x5, regular and filmpack. Prewash removed the antihalation layer.
The 20th Century reels are really good, easy to load and no flaw in process.
Jeff Perry is really nice and you can ask him for some special jobs (he did for me some reels for Film pack, perfect)...
Watch for the emulsion side.
A pain to process as this is like a 120 film.
I found the old premo film pack tank to be the best to process them232174
Getting into that thread makes you want to try xray for sure.
Did anyone try SLIMT in order to tame the contrast of the film ?
Best to all.
G
Magnificent !
Same here also.
I use 2 tanks together in order to do 8 sheets.
Dk50 or Rodinal with different film, always worked.
First time got issue with some dye. Then strong agitation in fix solved the...
I have been shooting 4x5 for 30 years and played back and forth with 8x10 all along.
But I always come back to 4x5 after each "crisis" !
The attraction for the 8x10 ground glass in the camera is...

Wolfgang Moersch posted some great test on FB.
Lith, Second pass Lith and regular prints. It's a terrific paper.
This is a great news. Will try it when I fly back to France.
Portriga is amazing in Lith, this is one of my main paper.
Record Rapid as well with some adjustments.
