I have used this developer, but only with lith film. I've found that the stock solution lasts about a month. In the new edition of Christopher James's book he has a newer formula that seems to work...
great concept.. i agree about the blurring of the character. maybe you could move him to a more urban setting as well.

I haul mine around in a f64 BPX. And I use the removable bags to carry 4x5 film holders.
