A very close friend, I'll miss David very much.248154
I use mine on a Wisner 8"x10" and I love it. I pretty much only photograph in b+w. Personally there's absolutely no way I'd spend $10k on it.
Congratulations John, I wish I was on the East Coast for this show, you already know how much I admire your work. Have a great show!
It's going to be a great show!
I've been to the DeYoung one several times and it's amazing too, just very, very crowded.
Indeed, it's dated, but it lists his email and that's how we communicate.
I used to grind my own then I got one of Steve Hopff's and I never looked back-

Merg I had no idea you were associated with EBPC, I'll definitely come over and have a visit!
See you there Merg?
LightBox Gallery is a really cool place to visit
Welcome from San Francisco Joey
I believe they start shipping on Monday!
That was such a great presentation!
My early model Gibellini wooden camera uses a Sinar board
I use a liquid called Vintage Camera Buddy Series Bellows Renewer which I found on EBay about five years ago. It keeps my Wisner bellows supple and well fed.
I can't count the hours I've spent in the darkroom at IF. I'm really going to miss this special place.

I guess I've been lucky, I really like my early model Gibellini camera although I've never used his holders.
I found Allstays' Camp & Tent to be a useful app when looking for campsites.
I actually found a one space campsite in OR, I would never have found it otherwise.
At first mine leaked a lot, then I started filling it less which caused a better vacuum and it's been fine since, user error on my part.
I've got an early model cherry Gibellini and I like it a lot, it's very solid. My friend has a new Gibellini 4"x5" and he loves it.
I have no experience with Chaminox but I hear they are great...
Steve Hopf (hopfsteve@gmail.com) can be hard to reach but makes a great ground glass.
I'll be in Seattle next week with a 4"x5"...

Welcome Richard,
I'm in San Rafael and work in 4"x5" and 8"x10", I'd be happy to show you my work flow after the lockdown.

Hi Jim,
I got two gg's from Steve last year. Of course they are beautiful. I communicated via hopfsteve@gmail.com and it was a bit slow but I think he was having email problems and was working on a...
For complicated metal parts I work in trade with a machine shop here in the Bay Area, I get the basics from McMaster.
If you're in the Bay Area come over for coffee and I'll show you some I've done, including a few gum overs. I'm in San Rafael.
Are 8"x10" photographers welcome?
I recently got scammed on an apartment rental. After filing a police report and small claims case the lady paid me back (over $3k) via PayPal. A year later she contested the charge and because there...
I'm very happy with my early model Gibellini 8"x10". It's a solid camera.
I've spent quite a bit of time at Searanch, renting a house with the family and also just passing through. I've never seen a security guard. That's not to say they're not there, just not when I've...
I don't know much about websites but the photographs really speak to me.
I've had good results with this fluid from EBay seller hobby-nexus-supplies184925
Best of luck with your show John.
Congratulations Austin, that looks like a great show!
I used Hahnemuhle Duo for a 12"x12" book and was very happy with it. Sadly they discontinued the large sheets and the following copies were printed 9"x9".
If you're interested you can see it and...

Hi Duff,
I've been using #206 for about 5 years. I love the lens.
I use it mostly at 476mm, then 311mm, least of all but still fairly often at 646mm. It's incredibly sharp at all 3 focal...
Tim the Gibellini plastic is so thick I'd like to switch mine out too. Will there be any focus shift switching to a thinner glass?
