Midwestern

Central Ohio Large Format Anonymous

LFA is a collective of photographers who share a love of photography in it’s many incarnations and act as a sounding board for each other; sharing knowledge, resources, and insights.  We started as a group of individuals meeting to foster our own creative endeavors and to further the awareness of their medium in our community.  Some members focus on traditional processes and tools of the medium to create their art; others push known limits to find a vocabulary for their expression.

To date we have produced four successful gallery exhibitions.   For two of the shows, we voted on a title/concept for a show and produced work illuminating the concept.  The other two shows highlighted each photographer’s best work from the past year.  In addition, we produced collateral material and orchestrated an opening gala for each show.

We have been meeting since late 2001.  Our group consists of mostly pro shooters and a few amateurs.  There are currently 8 folks who are in regular attendance.  For more information, …please email Mark Cheadle - lfa@markcheadle.com  or visit http://markcheadle.com/lfa

Michiana Large Format Group

Midwest Large Format Asylum

The Midwest Large Format Photographers are an informal group of view camera photographers from around the Midwest.  We have members in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.

We generally "plan" group outings every month and one of our members, Frank Pittel has created a mailing list to enable us to share info and location ideas.

I have also created a small website for the group at http://www.midwestlargeformat.com with more information.

Question:
If a group of birds is a flock and a group of cattle is a herd what do you call a group of large format photographers?

Answer:
An "Asylum"!

You can subscribe to our mailing list by sending an email to majordomo@deepthought.com with the words "subscribe midwestlf" in the body of the message. Or send an email to lfgroups@dunnam.net for more information.
