Spreadsheet of Schneider Vintage Lens Data

I spent some time this morning in the Way Back Machine on Archive.org putting Schneider's lost vintage lens data into a spreadsheet. With the information down, I decided having everything in one place would be easier. I took everything straight from the pages, so if there's anything wrong, it should be original to Schneider's webpage (e.g. what looks like a typo on the weight of the Symmar-S 135mm f/5.6). Initially, I was going to include the data for movements, too, but that grew to be way more work than I was interested in.

I hope this is useful, particularly since the information is no longer on Schneider's site. Feel free to save a copy of your own if you'd like.

    Cool thanks for the download.

I didn't realize an Angulon 165 had that much coverage.

The Angulon 210 is rated in all sorts of ways by Schneider's own brochures.

85 Degrees at f/22 here (vs at f/16 in the spreadsheet from Schneider's web archives), but also covering 11x14 at f/45.

The earliest numbers I've seen list it at 105° stopped down to f/64, but I think we can all agree that a 546mm IC is dubious at best.

I happily use mine on 11x14 without issue.

    Thanks for compiling this.

Regarding the 210mm Angulon, I have wondered if it would eke out enough coverage for 8x20. Anyone tried?

    Great, thanks!

Right before I saw this, I just sent S-K an email asking where this stuff all went - they could've easily put into the "History" category on their homepage.

I couldn't remember if that information was in there, but I was actually looking for the size of the rear cap for a Symmar-S 180 - but nothing there.

jimi, archive.org has most, if not all, of it. "The list" has directions to apparently lost Schneider documentation.

If you don't know what the list is, there's a link to it in the first post in a sticky "Where to look ..." in the lenses section.

    Dan,

thanks for the suggestions! I was able to dig through the archive.org and found the pdf file for the Symmar lenses. Ordered a lens cap today.

    Hi,

    50 mm slip on, so my 1987 Symmar-S brochure (400 III/87 T 5) says. 70 mm or M67x0.75 on front.

    Best

Thanks, Jens! I found the dimension out earlier and ordered a Heliopan slip on cap - worked out great.
