I have a Carl Zeiss Jena Tele-Tessar 1:6.3 f 40 cm Lens and can not find any information on it anywhere. It was with a 4X5 Calumet View Camera that I purchased. Does anyone have any information on this lens?
Also with the camera was a Wollensak-Dumont CRO 75 mm f/1.9 Oscillo-Anastigmat Lens I have found a little information on this but would like to know more. This is my first experience with this type of camera.
Here's a 1924 catalog on the f/6.3 tele-tessar, which should at least get you some information, even if your lens is likely a lot newer than 1924:

I have the same lens with a special barrel and Leica M 39 thread and it works fine

From Hartmut Thiele's _Fabrikationsbuch Photooptik II Carl Zeiss Jena_, Tele-Tessar serial number 1328752 was one of a batch of 45 of these lenses (serial numbers 1328751-1328795), production of which began 6 August 1931. This book is in German, my thanks again to Arne Croell for providing me with the translation of some of the terms in this book.

I don't know this lens in partiucular, but I have a couple similar ones. As the name suggests, this was made to document oscilloscope screens. It will cover 4x5 at 1:1 magnification, but barely 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" at infinity. Unless you are planning a special project, this lens is probably useless as much as it is worthless. Did it come in a working and and common shutter? :-)
