So RooX,
where are you ?
I'm sure most of you will get your cameras tomorrow or Friday at the latest. The tracking lags behind the actual shipment. David--you must have come to NM from the east coast--we're an impatient breed. Big thank you to Hugo for handling everything so well and not skipping town with all our money. Seriously, this deal went down smoothly and I couldn't be happier with my *first* Chamonix. I look forward to getting some accessories for the camera in 2008 and seeing everyone's images. This is just the start of my journey with large format, so I expect I'll be asking for some advice around here.
Yeah... I am a new yawker.
I am just anxious.
I've owned tons of second hand cameras.
This will be my first brand new camera ever.
So...I want it bad.
Don't forget to post some images at

I checked the EMS tracking page at 6:30, and it showed the camera as being delivered! I could not believe it, and was surprised when I went down to my mailbox at the end of the road. There sitting nice and secure was a compact box! What a nice Chanukah present!
Thank you Hugo for handling this so smoothly.
I quickly set up and played with the camera a little. For anyone who is interested the bellows is very compact, and will allow for a 47mm XL to be focused using a flat board.
Tomorrow I will take it into the back yard and put it through it's paces.

Michael,
Nice work on your website.
In Calgary, AB.
was sent through Canada Post on this end.
The mysterious package sat in a room
Chinese characters inscribed
No tea inside, instead the Chamonix.
Remarkable not for what it is, but rather what it is not
Elegant and small, the camera gravity forgot.
Less is more, said van der Rohe--the architect was right
Nothing less and nothing more than a box for catching light.
