Recommendations for LED array to replace Aristo Cold Light Head

I am looking to replace an Aristo T1212 cold light head with a LED array. The Heiland ones are way too expensive, so I am looking into studio lighting arrays. It's or an ancient Elwood 8x10 enlarger. Any recommendations?

The company that supposedly took over production of the Atisto bulbs is not returning my phone calls, so I assume that they aren't being made anymore.

    Thanks!

Recommend a Heiland LED module and SPL computer to drive it. Its pricy but worth every penny.

I built one from an arduino. The details are at the site in my signature line. I'm back to thinking about a few upgrades, as well as options for a simpler system that just lets you vary the ratio of blue to green without any of the complicated stuff. If you're interested I'll try to put together the details of the update I've been experimenting with.

Gary, LED light sources appear as a greener pasture, but they may not be. I've built 5 of them, all different, 4 of them for 8x10, and all a pain. (My designs are all analog without microprocessors nor code) All the parts added up are expensive. Heat is a problem (for the LEDs) . Getting the light even without attenuation is a big problem. And the list goes on. If the Aristo works for you, then stick with it. If not and you have oodles of time on your hands, then give it a try. If you'd like to chat about, send me a PM.

I should add that the Aristo does not work at all, and that the company that bought them is not returning my calls. I would prefer to replace the bulb if I can get my hands on one if that is what is wrong with it.

At the suggestion of another photographer on this site, I went back to the Light Sources website, and they now have a contact email address, so I’m trying that.

    Thanks!

    Gary,

I bought a new V54 tube from them in January of this year. If you still want to try getting a replacement lamp, try contacting Louise Kessler at the
following email address. She is the go to person for the cold light tubes. lkessler@light-sources.com

    Hope this helps
