Schneider 770mm Fine Art XXL lens

I've just been alerted to a possible new ULF lens by Schneider, the 770mm Fine Art XXL lens. It appears on the Schneider website, but I can't find it on the usual ULF suppliers' websites. Does anyone know about this?

    Thanks!

    Hi Rob,

Greiner has one listed, but I am not sure whether it is a new focal length or a new revision or not new at all:

    Best regards,

I don't think it's that new it's been listed by Schneider for some time, it's probably to special factory order, sat on a shelf at the Schneider factory itself rather than any specific dealer. Of course a German dealer could get schneider to post it direct to a buyer. It's in the Schneider 2012 price list. That seller has lenses listed that are currently sold out (Cooke).

When I bought a 300mm f9 Nikon M in the UK that had to be imported from the factory as no dealers kept them on the shelf in the UK.

from Schneider says they are special order. He will have availability info and price, he is contacting Schneider.
? Would one prefer this to 550, or would it be nice to have both?

Dave- I think it would depend entirely on your budget

    700 mm "normal" for 20 x 24.

I would like all three XXL's. I'm trying to see what else I can sell to make that happen! The 770mm would be an excellent portrait length for 14x17 or even 11x14.

I think I'll just get SK Grimes to put my Docter Optics 600mm Apo-Germinar in a shutter first. It'd certainly cost a lot less

Fine, wonderful, but on Docter's claims (see http://www.arnecroell.com/docter.pdf), which seem optimistic, it won't cover 16 x 20 at infinity, let alone the 550 and 1100 XXLs' 900 mm.

It will cover 14x17, which is the biggest I've got.
