    Hello from India

    Hi Everyone!
My name is Vishal. I am photographer based out of Mumbai and Berlin.

I was shooting film till 2007 and due to the the Digital transition had to halt it due to availability and developing issues in India. But now, since the last 4 years I am back into it.

I am regularly shooting with 35mm, 120 and 4x5 formats. I shoot with a lot of Fresh and expired stocks of film. Expired films is really exciting. Exploring extensively on Large Format is what I am doing now. It's still on 4X5 though but probably will get on to further formats. I use a Cambo Cadet and got some additional gear such as a 6X9 film back, a 545i Polaroid Holder and a 405 Polaroid film holder.

I would be glad to connect with more people from the community.

    Have a good day!

Welcome to the forum! I also shoot fresh and expired films.
I have a video on Youtube, where I'm shooting 4x5 Polaroid Type 55, expired in 2008.
    Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HyYRB4JWkw

When summer comes, I'll make a video of shooting 4x5 Kodak High Speed Infra-red film, expired in 1967.

Welcome, Vishal. Someday I hope to get to your beautiful country. My children came from Andra, near the coast in Gudivada.

    Hi Andy,
Nice video. Type 55 is one of my favourite ones. I don't have them yet. Looking around if anyone has to sell them. Would love to see the Infrared video.
Which expired films do you have?

I've seen Type 55 on ebay, but most of it is OLD! I haven't bought any as I'm worried the chemical pods will have dried out. I have some expired New55 from about 6 years ago, but can't use them as the pods have hardened. I have expired TMY, HP5, FP4, Efke 25, Acros, Shanghai... The most out of date (other than the HIE) would be the TMY, which expired in 2000.

Interesting! Yes....theat's the problem with chemical based such as Type 55 or FP100C. It's a hit or miss if not stored properly. I found a pack of FP100C in my deep freezer. It was kept in 2007 and completely forgot about it. I found in 2019. The results were pretty interesting. I used it with a 4x5!

If your looking at selling some of your expired film, do let me know. I shoot alot with expired film as well as at the same I working on an Analog Project in India. If your up for it, I could drop you a mail and we could discuss on it.
