I have a small sump pump station in mine, made by Gould pumps. It takes care of the darkroom and a laundry sink. It pumps some 200' to our house sewer line! It's to the left of the image under the laundry tub.

Thanks Luis! The contractor and I have been looking at options and that definitely looks like a possibility. Most units seem designed for much higher capacity and solids which is totally unnecessary here.

These small pumps are usually low flow, high head. Flows are usually in the range of 10-20 GPM which is quite small, but way high for a darkroom. Your discharge head will be very low, so you will get a higher flow. In mine, even with the long run and through a check valve, it empties in about 5 secs. Could probably also handle a washing machine! I actually have a backup pump for when it goes out, I can just swap them out and get the one fixed!

Ordered a pump, a cheap little thing but it'll get the job done. It only has to go a couple feet up in the air anyway! Thanks for the suggestion on that.

If you got a cheap one, just dilute the waste so it doesn't eat the pump. With mine, the wash water more than dilutes it, so not an issue. L

Will do. I don't generally put anything real hard through the sink anyway.

Shouldn't have any real problem with the sump. Used everyday all over. Don't do something silly and get fumes. Very low risk. I used trays on a counter for years with a similar sink setup worked just fine. Most people would kill for such a nice orderly setup . Good work.
    Best regards, Mike
