    Flowers Anyone?

How about an open thread for all things floral. Here's one of mine. These are Puruvian Lillies I've been told. I like the sequence of young buds blossming into the five adults. The different stages of growth.

Rich, intense color. Do you raise these things or did you buy them, or were you traveling?

    Politically, aerodynamically, and fashionably incorrect.

    Re: Flowers Anyone?

I've always like to photograph flowers: Color transparency, B&W negative, 35mm, 6x6cm, 4x5
For 35mm I used to use Kodachrome but because of long delays in lab turnaround (and loss of two rolls), I have switched to Fujichrome Astia 100F after much contemplation and advice from these forums. I opted for the Astia 100F because I wanted to contain the contrast for Ilfochrome printing. I like the results but am curious about Velvia, which I plan to try.

I have fallen behind in filing transparencies, mainly because I wanted to file the flowers according to their proper "common" name as well as the scientific name: neither of which I am qualified to do. Consequently it is time consuming and easy to put off into the future.
