SEIKO shutters, what size do they come in?

I have a seiko Shutter with apertures from f/6.7 to f/64. I want to replace it because it is not working and cannot find a person to fix it. Can I replace it with another Seiko whose aperture goes from f/5.6 to f/45? Do they have the same diameter hole, or they also come on #0, #1, #2, etc? Please advise if that is possible, or if you have someone who can fix Seikos. Thanks,Pepe

Go to the list, look up Compur/Copal/Prontor #1's size (inner diameters of front and rear tubes, tube length), measure your dead shutter and see whether it conforms to that standard. Joe McGloin says the lens is in a #1. If it is, any Compur/Copal/Prontor #1 will do. If so, you'll have to have the aperture scaled. SKGrimes now repairs only Copals, but should scale anything.

If your 'nother Seiko has the same measurements as the dead one, it should do fine. If you can't transfer the aperture scale from the dead one, SKGrimes ...

Thanks Dan. I already tried, the Copal #1 does not fit, the hole is too small (this is weird because there is a version of this lens on a Copal 1, it must be a bit smaller diameter). I don't have another Seiko to fit it, that is why I am asking if anyone knows, so I can buy another lens that I don't need and use the shutter. Thanks.

Thank you everyone, I just fund out a Seiko repairman. The shutter just needs a CLA, old lubricant and new lubricant.

Did you try contacting Flutot's Camera Repair, to see when they'll be back-in-business?

It looks you were posting just as I was. Who is the repairman you found?

Re: SEIKO shutters, what size do they come in?

Seiko had a shutter size with slightly bigger diameter cell threads (not sure if it was both front and back) than Copal 1 - both the older Fujinon 210/5.6 and 250/6.7 lenses came in that size. Later those lenses came in regular Copal 1 shutters.
