    Wista 45N Ground Glass removal

I was hoping someone has direct experience removing the ground glass on a Wista 45N? I assume I remove the screws shown in the picture after removing the rotating back? If so, what should I expect next in the process? I also assume the GG measures 101mm x 126mm (without having removed it).

    Regards,

I don't have a Wista 45N right now, so I'm writing from memory. Remove the 6 screws, and the frame will come off. There may be screws holding down the silver clips. Those are quite small, so be careful not to lose them. There may be a shim or two under the clips.

You have a Sinar GG installed on your camera, so what is underneath?

Thanks Kumar, for me it's always nice to know what I'm getting into. Underneath?

I meant under the Sinar GG. There were different versions of the Wista GG. One had a combination Fresnel/GG, with a cover glass on top, which is what your N might have had originally.

I haven't a clue what's underneath. I thought it was simply a piece of ground polished glass with a grid. That's why I wanted to remove it. The view through the GG seemed really dim, especially the peripheral. Then again I'm a noob to 4x5. I was thinking of looking for a Fresnel/GG thinking it would help and wanted its dimensions. I read that there were two different sizes, a 100x122mm, and a 101x126mm. Mine appears to be 126mm in width.
