I have a Technika III with serial number 23357. It has the RF with angled sides and the thumb screws on the sides. On the top edge it has "D.R.P. Made in Germany D.R.G.M.". The serial number only appears on the drop bed, under the Linhof logo. Back at post #1664, someone had serial 23355.

Sorry, it has to be a war time production, no record of a lll with that number. Could be the Medcin.

Bob, thanks for your reply. It definitely isn't a Medcin model. It is in unmolested original condition and was set up for 90mm, 135mm and 210mm lenses and appears to have been sold as a well equipped kit. The 90mm Schneider lens that was sold with it has a serial number dating it to 1949, so I believe the camera can't have been made much earlier than that. Do you have any records of Technika serial numbers in the 23XXX range? I'm curious where the range starts, since it seems serial numbers 23355 and 23357 have shown up on this thread. What if it was just “3357”? Would that translate to a valid serial number?

    Hey,

I recently acquired a 2x3/6x9 Technika and there seems to be some hints that it's a IV - but other signs that its a III. Click image for larger version.

The serial is 46929 (Indicating a III?) - but the camera has the lever release for the back, and it's black - not tan. Is this a 3.5? :-)

Somebody told me bob could help out :-)

    Regards,

    Glenn

From the photos it is a III from around 1949... The angled rangefinder cover shows up in late 1948 and by sometime in 1950 the III is refreshed, with the knob position, friction lock, and handle all changing...

Sorry, it can not be a lll as it was produced during or before WWll.
That serial number series was not used after WWll for any Linhof 23, 45, 57 or 810 camera.
It isn’t impossible that that 90 was added after the war. Or maybe a dealer that survived the war sold it after that 90 was made.
