    Help with lens dilemma!

After not having photographed with large format cameras for quite some time I picked up a nice Calumet C1 8x10 that came with a 12in commercial Ektar. Everything's great!

However, I wanted something a little longer for tighter portraits so I picked up a 20in Bausch and Lomb barrel lens off Ebay. Now comes the problem - today after mounting the lens to a board and on to the camera I discovered the field of view is extremely wide. Much much wider than the 12in Ektar. At the same camera to subject distance as the 12in the 20in needs the bellows almost flush with the lens to be in focus. What gives?! Is part of the lens missing or am I doing something wrong?

Here is the 20in lens for reference: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_638wt_1397

    Thanks!
    Marc

That doesn't sound right. I'd send it back.

I'd suspect it's missing an element/group or simply assembled incorrectly.
