The "low-fi" treatment of pinhole is perfect for the VLA, somehow the 'squinty-eyed' view evokes a realism, a documentary sense to the very nice set, at least to my eyes.

Here's a recent image looking towards Point Sur:

Mmelvis, curious sharp foreground but unsharp background. unintentional? desired, or not?
I like it in the second one.

also begs for putting some objects in the foreground.

Pinholes have virtually infinite depth of field due to the physics of light diffusion. Pinholes don't focus light like lenses do, and therefore their images appear softer than images captured through lenses. The "unfocused" appearance of the background is likely due to the fact that the virtual image of small structures like leaves and twigs is approaching the circle of confusion dimensions-- the COC is the same size as the pin hole; in my 8x10 that would be .6mm.

Pin of the whole performance of "Hadestown" at the New York Theatre Workshop. This is the latest image in a longterm series of theatrical performance pins.

Really like that full performance-length pinhole, it's executed really well. I've got a few similar ideas I've been meaning to try this might just motivate me to do it. In the meantime here's some power lines on a homemade 5x7. Foma 200 and Rodinal.
