Six-year-old thread.
42CM Repro Claron. What happened to the Symmar? Was it the Dagor type? Those are killer lenses.
My 210mm Angulon (late, coated 60's-70's???) came in one of these stock...
Good shutter!!!

@Dhuiting do you have a link showing the lens? From a quick google-search it looks more like a barrel lens that can not be mounted on a central shutter. I might be wrong though.
Dan, I can give you a qualified yes. I have put the cells from a 16.5/2.7 CZ Tessar (serial in the range 709.xxx) into a Compound IV that formerly housed a 240/4.5 Xenar. I can't guarantee that your Tessar will have the same thread size as mine, but as the thread diameter is only slightly smaller than the overall diameter of the cells it doesn't look like there would be a difference between a shuttered version of the lens and one in a barrel.
Looks like Paul and I both said it 5 1/2 years ago, and we still think it is true...
Anyhow, both the 16.5cm f/2.7 Tessars and f/2.8 BioTessars were built for 1/4 plate cameras (Miroflex?). The Tessar illuminates a 4x5 plate open wide, but is fuzzy in the corners. A Compound IV shutter iris should open wide enough for full aperture on this lens.
Yes, 21cm Angulons are in Compound III shutters. They were offered in Copal 3 shutters briefly towards the end of the production run.
