I took delivery of a Lee IR filter on Friday afternoon. I noticed it had a small piece of contamination in the lower right corner.
I gently tried to gently scrape it off with my finger. No luck. I then tried some distilled water.. still no luck. Isopropyl alcohol did the trick. Sadly, it also removed the coating from the filter.
Doh! Truly a Mr. Bean moment.
I sheepishly wrote B&H to explain how stupid I was. They’re sending me a new filter at no charge.
