This Jobo CPE 2, the bottom cover of the lift is somehow glued (?) to the cover of the main unit. Is this the correct way to mount it? How can I remove the entire lift unit if I do not want to use the lift? Or I need to get a new lift?

Have a look under the hose; I think that there's a small screw there. Have a look here for more information/photos.

There is a small screw with a knurled white or grey plastics head under the hose - if you release that, you can pull the lift back and up out of its base. That exposes the lift base, which should be attached to the main unit with four screws.
If you already are there and your issue should be that the base plate is glued on (many have been DIY fixed with glue after forcing the the screws and wearing out the rather vulnerable plastics threads), and you have to get to the electronics, you could still drill holes into the base plate where it covers the motor box screws.
The lift base (or adaptor) has 4 screw holes where it touches the processor cover. But they do not match the holes on the cover and the 4 holes are not used. So it appears to me the lift base is not attached the normally way? I'm not sure if I'll break the base if I try to take it off.
I assume that you want to attach a Lift to a previously Lift-less unit, rather than remove the Lift, right? There is no hole for the Lift screws on the CPE-2 motor cover - the supplied screws are self-cutting, and will cut into the plastics of the motor cover, some way in from the position where the screws attaching the cover are.
If you have a Lift whose base is attached without screws, someone missed the above and glued it on.
This is what I get. I think the previous owner glued the base onto the cover of the base.
It looks like it. Chances are that it cannot be removed without destroying at least one of motor cover and lift base - common plastics glues tend to weld plastics of that type. If you want to get rid of the Lift for good, or need to replace the Lift base, you could only do so by replacing the motor cover (its screws seem to be already accessible).
I plan to get another CPE2 and swap the covers.....
