    Omega D5 XL , 50 EL Nikkor

    Vignettes when enlarging 35mm negatives!

Flat lens board, it focuses sharply, but vignettes heavily.

    Enlarger has been aligned...

    What did I do wrong?

Also new Osram bulbs! Problem goes away when I use 80mm lenses.

Whats a 50mm negative? You may need a recessed lensboard for 35mm negs. I have a D-6 with universal bellows and turret, I can't get a 50mm El-Nikor to even focus, can't fit a recessed mount on a turret. Are you using cones or a bellows?

Bellows. To focus I have to push the lens stage up high..

The problem is likely with the placement of the enlarging glass in the head. You have to place it in the right compartment that matches the lens. I hope this helps.

What size are you enlarging to? I prefer the 80mm when using 35mm negatives. I only keep the 50mm around in case I need to make really big enlargements. Haven't needed to in years though since I am using 4x5 mostly. Are you stopping down the 50mm? You will likely notice fall off in the corners. This is why I use a longer lens. You get sharper images in the corners. Also you might want to check the light diffusion box.

Dan95, do you have the condensers set up correctly?

The Chromegatrol is a pretty robust unit, its odd that it would only partially function. Check connections. Have you ever used DeOxit? Try it on all the electrical connections and switches.
