    Shen-Hao FCL57-A or HZX57-IIA or similar alternative?

I am thinking of getting a 5x7 and using it almost exclusively with a 4x5 reducing back. I might use it for 5x7 at some point too. I've found that while my current 4x5 camera is great for wide angle lenses it doesn't handle +240mm copal 3 lenses to well. The weight is too much for the front end of the camera and therefore I though 5x7 would be idea.

Which of the Shen-Hao 5x7 (or other similarly priced 5x7 camera) would you recommend with the 4x5 reducing back and why? I would be shooting lenses from 75mm (recessed lensboard) to 300mm copal 3.

I have a 6x17 Dayi back for my current 4x5 Shen-Hao, but might have to invest in a 6x17 for the 5x7 to accommodate a wider selection of usable lenses.

    Thank you!

I have the HZX57-IIA and it even came with both the 5x7 back and the 4x5 reducing back. You'll definitly need the bag bellows when using 75mm or 90mm, and you'll have to mount them on recessed lensboards.

I like the camera very much. I first had the Shen Hao 4x5; of course, the 5x7 is larger, but still very portable and it's nice to have both formats in one camera.

The Shen Hao XPO will easily hold your 240mm. I've had a 3kg 8" lens, iris diaphragm and a Sinar shutter on the front of mine.

Obviously, you won't gain the benefits of a 5x7 with the 6x17 back for wide angles.

I missed that part of the question; a 300mm in Copal 3 is no problem at all; I've used a Goerz RD Artar 19", a Schneider 360mm and Hermagis Eidoscope n 3.

Thank you for your replies! I've decided to go for the HZX version
