    Wow...I paid a lot for that Ektar film

    I was picking up replacement batteries for my Gossen Luna pro meter at Adorama when I noticed a box of 4X5 Ektar on the shelf. Since I will be photographing my friends barn after he paints it red, I decided to buy the Ektar for 30.00. It wasn't until I returned home that I realized it was a box of ten. Man, I'm glad my favorite is black and white.

    Indeed. Now nearly $40 for the 10 in Portra

    I was going to pick up some Portra in 4x5 until I saw the price. Sticking with E6 for now...

    One advantage of color negative film over transparency film is that you don't have to bracket as much. Usually the film latitude allows you to get away with one exposure. So you may end up spending less per scene.
