    Epson V750 scanner - silverfast

I purchased a used 750 in excellent condition with all frames, etc...EXCEPT

the previous owner misplaced the silverfast software CD that came with

I was wondering if someone could bust me out a copy

the scanner works great now..but I think I'd like trying to batch process 120 negs as well

Copies are serial numbered, so you'll not likely get a copy that will work without a unique number. Also, SilverFast recently had a makeover for Windows 7 and the new Mac OS. You'll need to purchase the newest version if you use either of those operating systems. Choke up the cash for a fresh copy and keep the serial number forever.

I got silverfast with my scanner, and i love it.... i would have paid for this software after seeing what it can do. Well worth the shekels i invested in the V750. If you have serial you dont need a copy of the software......Offer the previous owner a reward if he finds it......I also checked with my cracker hacker friends.... no chance there...

If the previous owner is willing see if he can contact lasersoft with the serial number of the scanner to get an activation code. The support from lasersoft has seved me well on a few occasions.

^ +1. I would try that. Worth a try anyway. I upgraded to the free upgrade with the scanner and it's great except I have had a few tech issues that I have alerted silverfast about and they are supposed to be looking into a solution.

    see this thread http://forum.silverfast.com/selectiv...ues-t8913.html

Once the issue is sorted I think Silverfast is much better than the included Epson software.

Re: Epson V750 scanner - silverfast

I use Silverfast Ai with my V750 for my color work. I cannot get decent scan using Silverfast with B&W pyro negs despite many, many, many tries. The scan histogram hammers up against the right side. I have used different film profiles, adjusted those profiles, I have tried scanning as a negative, as a color negative, as a B&W positive and color positive. I have posted regarding this issue here and contacted tech support. Tech support was completely worthless on this one. I gave up and use the Epson software, which works just fine. I don't like the interface as much, but it works great. So if you don't end up with Silverfast, the Epson software works quite nicely.

    Dear DrTang,

if you got the serial from the previous owner, you can order a replacement CD.
You can also just download the software.

If the previous owner has registered his software on our website,
we can can reset the registration, allowing you to register this copy to your name.
Therefore, our support team would need some information from you.

    Please contact our support: http://www.silverfast.com/support

    Thanks

I seriously doubt he #1 has the number & #2 registered anything...it was from a student who used it for class then sold it to buy beer (or something) when he no longer needed it....

I'll download the demo version and play around with it for a bit to see if I need it or not

    Thank you for your help
