    Beseler MCRX - MXT

What's the difference between an MCRX and an MXT ?

    Thanks

    Beseler MCRX - MXT

The MCRX is older. It has a tapered bellows. The lens stage tilts from side to side to facilitate perspective control. It also came with a hook shaped arm which enabled one to lock the head in the horizontal position for mural printing. Because of some of these added "conveniences" it was a bitch to align. The MXT did away with the horizontal arm, tapered bellows and smaller tilting lens stage. Its adjustments made it easier to align. You could still buy or find a horizontal arm and install it on your MXT if you wanted to. The MXT was also painted black while the MCRX was Beseler blue with lots of chrome which I wound up taping black. The MXT is a better enlarger, I had both. I now have the 45V-XL and that blows them both away.
