    Speedotron D-300 pack

Hi, I was given a speedotron D-300 pack. It has three light sockets, a half / full switch and that's it.

I assume its 300 hundred w/s, and that it's symmetrical because there is no switch to go asymmetrical.

    So if there is one lite it's 300 w/s, two lites it's 150 w/s ea. and three lites it's 100 w/s ea.

    Does that sound right?

Sounds right, but it'd be better if you could find a manual online to make sure of its function.

Yes, that's the way all the Brown Line power supplies work, though I never knew there was a 300WS unit in that line.

Speedotron's downloadable manual only covers the current Brown Line, which covers four-light power supplies from 400 to 1600 ws.

It's silver colored, not brown, but the model no. is D-300. It looks older than the D-402 that came with it.
What I'll do is hook up one light. Meter it at 10 feet. Then do the same with two lights, (that's all the lights I have), and see what the difference is.
Was there ever a dummy load made that could be plugged into a pack so as to change the characteristics of the output like there was three lights, but only one light was present?

    Thanks, d.s.

I have one, but it just has the model light and on/off switch. The serial number is engraved by hand. 300WS to one light, 150 two two, 100 to three, and a slow recharge time. It's handy, and it's good for additional light to my D604. I had to buy an extension cord, and trim one end down to fit into the unit.

That's it Brian, only I think mine is older, (not brown and the ready light is dome shaped). Everything else is the same. It is slower to recharge but I think I can work with that.
    Thanks for the w/s info.
