Seitz D3 Scanback for 4x5 cameras

    Hi,

does anybody know why it is, that the Seitz D3 Scanback(160 MP on Seitz 6x17 camera) since it's presentation in 2006 has never been adapted to other cameras?
Be it Alpa medium format cameras or largeformat cameras. The possiblity has been announced on the Seitz website for a long time, but has been no progress in the recent years.

Since I first read about this scanning back, which is able to record images in extremely short time(for a scanning back), I am curious about that possibility. Wouldn't it be nice to use the back to gather images of 6x12cm on a 4x5 camera or even 6x7 or 6x9?

    Am I missing something?

    greetings,
    pjotr

Why not ask the manufacturer directly?
