    B&J 8x10 question

I haven't been able to figure this out yet... Why does the rear standard have two slots for the rear rise adjustment? The regular 8x10 woodie (as pictured) is this way, as is the rembrandt.

My thoughts were; a quick setup to ensure the back was perpendicular to the rack and a way to stop the back from hitting the rear swing knob underneath.

My B&J monorail has the same design. I've wondered about it, myself.

    Politically, aerodynamically, and fashionably incorrect.

Your picture is better to illustrate the camera.

Yep, I bought it from you and am still using it. Here it is with a 305 kodak portrait. I also use it with a 300 symmar-s.

    Why it's simple:

To lighten the weight of that beefy rear standard and to provide the option of a 1/2" more extension.

    That and what Kirk said.
