Enlargers Going for Pennies on the $

I really enjoy using my Besseler 45 MCRX. Ten years ago I paid $450, complete with film holders(35mm, 120, and 4x5 glass). Good motor. And a blower fan assembly with Besseler Dichro head. A month ago I found one on craigslist for $25. Bought it for the darkroom up at the cabin. This one has the condenser lightsource as well as an original Besseler coldlight head. Nice.
Today, a very kind person sold me his Besseler 45, in pristine condition, for $10. Complete with a negatrans carrier, and a modern Dichro head. OK. Now I have three. Better stop here. But, at that price, I couldn't resist. I may look into converting one to a 5x7, or 8x10. Beautiful machines. There is still nothing to match a black and white hand pulled print for artistic beauty, don't care what the digital folks say.

I'm waiting for a similar deal on a Durst or Omega D5.
My problem is lack of space to put it.

it must be a case of "local markets"
here in Toronto I have been watching the Omega 4x5 enlargers go
    in the range of $120 t0 $250
I got a D5 with 3 lenses and all of the holders for $140
so I am a happy camper

Its great for buyers of darkroom equipment as prices are giveaway low. I have Durst rollpaper printers( basicallly semi automated enlarger with roll easel attached all in a lighttight cabinet) that were 35K in their heyday(not including 600$ Rodagons). Today Im hardpressed to even find someone who knows what the printer does or to get a few hundred bucks out of them. Fine analog machines to be had at almost scrap prices are everywhere on craiglist. At least we know what our machines are capable of -- digisnappers just like the computer to do the work now.

If you're going to tell us what great prints can be made with your enlarger at least learn how to spell its brand name.

This is why I'm hanging on to my Focomat IIc. Can't bear to part with it, but haven't fully set it up yet. Won't be able to get anything near what I paid for it.

    Ouch!!!

Too bad you kids aren't able to use the papers from good old days.... a lot of the stuff that's touted today was considered crap back in the day..... my 2 cents.

I bought 5 omega D2's a few years ago for $250. Not sure why exactly but I had to borrow a truck to pick them up. I planned to convert one to 8x10, sell the rest. Just ended up selling them because I had nowhere to stash them.
