    Post your vacation photos!

Some days left before we all go back to school kids. What did you shoot while on vacation?

I took my Speed Graphic with the Aero Ektar and a Manfrotto 055 tripod... along with the stroller, the 8 month old baby, dipers, umbrella... etc. Bad idea all together.

The place, Menorca. A small island in the Ballearic Island of Spain.
Here's some of the first sheets I developed. Lots of sand in those beaches :P

How was that a bad idea? I love the results. Especially the first image looks like you had a great time.

Thanks Michael. Bad idea because of the weight! and really too complicated to bring out all the equipment in such heat and set it up with so many other things to carry.

I'd like to go back in september/october alone and take my time. I had to give it a go nonetheless.

Here's a holiday shot from three weeks ago in the Bernese Alps, on one of the very few sunny days. Wista 45DXIII with the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau behind us...

I think you will forget how heavy that was long before you stop enjoying those photos! I like the first one in particular.

I have not yet tried taking vacation photos with my 4x5. I'm going to the Italian Alps at the end of the month, still have not decided if I should bring my Chamonix or not...

    Ramiro,
What is that baby holding on to? Oh yeah, that explains the big grin.
I really like how that lens handles the out of focus foreground in the lighthouse shot. That is definitely worth printing.
You may be more flexible and productive going back alone later in the year, but a smiling baby and a happy wife at the beach are memories you'll keep forever, no matter what film or developer you choose.
    Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Stefan, I didn't shoot as much as I wanted but I am sure I will fall into the same mistake many times more

Those are very nice words Chris, thanks so much.

Here's a couple more. The Ballearic Islands are full of small houses painted all white. I wish I had Ken Lee's aid for exposing all these, I screwed up most of them.

Menorca is known for its "Jaleos" a celebration of the town's patron with horses. I left the tripod in the car for this one and I finally took the photo upon my girlfriends insistance and aid (she stopped the rider and made him pose.)
I stopped it down to ƒ5.6 but still didn't managed to get him in focus. Not terrible for a hand held with the Aero Ektar that weights a ton.
