TEST shot.
My first attempt as using enlarging paper for a negative.
I rated the paper at iso 3, exposed it at 1/4 second at F6.8. Developed it with Rodinal using about 9ml in 300ml of water.
The paper has not been properly stored, and I was not even sure it my son had accidentally exposed it or not.
Loaded my Toyo 810G - placed it in the living room (cold out today and I hate the winter), and pointed it out the window.
Will keep trying with the paper I have left, and if I'm liking the results I will get some fresh paper. As you can see in the upper right and lower right the developing may have been messed up as I really didnt have enough in the tray but since this was a complete test I didnt worry about it.
Trial and error - mostly errors but at the same time I like the result. Testing the paper, the developer, the dilution. I think I will be getting more *fresh* paper.
There was so many problems with dust, or fibers (RC paper though?) that I didnt even bother doing any spotting.

Sorry if you saw this post with no image, not sure what happened. but edited, photo is back
Ive seen some 4x5 paper (ilford, untrafine) - anyone try this stuff out? I'm assuming it is exactly 4x5 inches - too wide/long for most 4x5 film holders? Im assuming this as I measured a 4x5 negative I happened to have at hand and it was of course slightly less than 4x5 inches.
I guess trimming is not out of the question, using a red safety light but it would be great if we could use this stuff without trimming. I tried a sheet of 8x10 (see previous post above) and I think id rather use 4x5 but if i have to trim every sheet, I might as well stick with the 8x10 as I know it will fit my holders.
Any one have any experience with the 4x5 paper?
Derek
well derek I tend to chop 5x7 paper to 4x5 in - more or less exactly - and it fits in my holders.
The excess is nice for test strips =)
They don't fit in my clear negative sleeves though =)
Thanks Nicholas.
I never thought about the negative sleeves. Good point.
Ok, i admit, i just assumed the exact 4x5 dimensions of the paper (again assuming the paper IS actually 4x5), wouldnt fit my holders as i only measured one negative i had handy.
My bad.
Might have to order some 4x5 paper.

Wow I am dying to try this. Maybe this weekend!
[Alessandro Bocchi] those are some gorgeous tones! very nice work...
When I scan paper negatives, there is a *lot* of spotting to do. Is this normal guys? Ive only shot three images so far using paper negatives and its been a issue all three times. Ive been using ILFORD MULTIGRADE IV RC Paper developed in HC-110 diluton B (i dont know why i went with this, maybe because all I have to use atm is hc-110 and rodinal).
Now, i have NOT been using photo flo - would this be the issue? I hang the paper in the closet, door closed - same place I hang my film to dry. Scanner cleaned each time.
my apologies if this is not the correct place to post this question.
