    Found in the desert west of Tucson. 8.5" f/4 petzval mounted on a 5x7 Auto Graflex camera. FP4+ developed in pyrocat hd.

    Wow, that's cool Jason! The soft edges, bullet holes, missing pieces imply quite an imaginative story, but the composition and shapes are also strong.

    New yesterday and developed last evening, scanned this AM. This is done with an unusual lens. Ilex 13" f3.5 Portrait Anastigmat stopped down to f32. Film is aerial Panatomic X and format 6.5X8.5 Tonopah Historic Mining Park

    I have an ambivalent relationship with images of old cars & trucks. On one hand I think they are often pictures we "take" of old vehicles, rather than images we "make" which reflect something about ourselves. On the other hand, they are irresistible for view camera users, since they sit still and let us do our thing. This is an old Chevrolet/Hobart generator truck parked pretty permanently next to two old barns in Madison NJ. They are scans from Pyrocat/HP5+ negatives. Given my mixed feelings, there is a good chance that these will never advance past the scanning stage, although I find the rear view of the truck the most interesting, the other views are simply documentation.

    Machines like that are why we won WWII and why we enjoy freedom this day. To some they are just old machines. To others they represent a work ethic that is thin on the ground these days. It's a welding rig.
