Well, I'm in Bakersfield, CA this weekend for the annual Hot Rod Reunion. Lots of old cars, trucks and old men all weekend. Shooting MF and 4x5 as well. Rough life, I know.

This is cool. The bug eye lights give it a very "living being" look.

This is a mid 40's Dodge that has been parked at Benton Hot Springs, CA in the high desert sun for some time..... no rust - and almost no paint on the south facing and horizontal surfaces. Those small bushes in front of the car are probably 20 + years old - it is safe to assume it hasn't been to a drive in movie for some time.... I made this image with a Rodenstock / Linhof Select 150mm lens on my Linhof 4x5. So I don't over tax my feeble brain I use only one film - Ilford FP4 plus - processed in HC-110 - dilution B -

Here is an image of my D90 mule overlooking the Owens Valley east of the Sierra Nevada- it is not that old ('97 Land Rover) - it is not vintage, but still picture worthy - I regularly shoot my images from the roof rack platform. I made this image of the truck while waiting for the light on the rocks directly behind my truck. This is the site where Ansel Adams made his image of a clearing summer rainstorm over Mt. Williamson and boulders.

Here is the image of Mt Williamson I made that day.... I was parked there for about 3.5 hours waiting for the sun position and clouds....

Looks like you did a great job of finding S. Ansels tripod holes on that one! Nice. I enjoyed the old Dodge also. Been to Buster and Maybelle's many many times and never saw the Dodge. Have photographed the '40 and '48 Ford tonner trucks there oft times though.
