Here is one more from the outing - I'm a little annoyed at myself for not trying a hood that I brought along (flare upper left), but I loved the tones on the right wall and the walkway..

My meter would only give me a reading within a couple of feet of the lit doorway, the rest of the room was too dark. I guessed at a few minute exposure and was pretty happy with how it turned out.

Police escorted me out of there last time I was in the area. I had a Leica, explained what a LF camera was, they offered to let me back in. Unfortunately I had to leave.

I am so happy I signed on here, I get to view so many wonderful images. Photography is like meditation for me. Both doing and seeing.

Here are some of mine, taken over 15 years ago. I used to have a darkroom, but upon my first showing back about 2003, I realized that it would take forever for me to print my show, so I flipped the switch to digital. I scan into an Epson 2400, do dodging, burning, and other normal manipulations that you would find in a traditional darkroom, to get everything I can get out of the negative's dynamic range.

1) Paddington Station, London. I could not get the Wisner to tilt enough to get everything perfectly vertical, but I'm still happy with this, with one exception. I wanted a train in the picture, and it just left the track nearest to the viewer.


2) Saw Mill, VT. This sawmill was out of the way nestled in the woods at the entrance to a waterfall. I immediately knew I had to capture it. I was surprised that I got as much shadow detail as I did, and was ecstatic that it printed so well. There IS some digital manipulation here in that I had to define the wires at the top better than the scan showed.

Barns are one of my favorite things to TRY to photograph. But I have yet to capture one, because I never have time to stop when I see one.

One from the Easter weekend: only my second processed shot with 5x4 Velvia...

2 seconds f/22, no movements

"scanned" on lightbox with D800E and 60f/2.8 AF-S micro, four shots stitched in CS6. Only problem I've found with this method so far is keeping film flat; stitching caused a small problem, with only solution a bit of perspective distortion in CS6. Would be interested to know if/and in what ways a flatbed such as an Epson V850 would produce better output.
