We had a huge snowstorm roll through Missouri yesterday so I jumped in the truck and drove a couple hours to an area that I knew would have some great subjects for the snow. Found this bright red barn in a open field and captured this during full white-out conditions, used a huge golf umbrella to shield me while setting up the view camera. Was also lucky enough to remember that I had left some sheet holders with Velvia in the truck so I was able to make a second exposure with color to show the bright red paint against the all white surroundings.

This is really wonderful! Love everything about it, but the tree on the left is something special.

Much appreciated John, Bryan, and Jim!
Jim the tree was definitely the final touch and anchor point of the composition, after I finished with the view camera I ran up to the tree and shot some isolated photos with my Nikon F.

One more from yesterday, this is the old homestead near the barn posted above.

Wow, Peter. The framing is just perfect on that and the level of detail across all those textures is amazing.
