"One Owner, Needs Work"
Tachihara, 90mm Schnieder, 1sec, f32
I had been invited to photograph a hundred-odd year old shearing shed at a property called "Ledgerton", near the farming community of Yass (NSW, Australia). I did get a very nice image of the shed's interior then decided to wander around the other farm buildings.
I found the original farm house, now largely in a state of disrepair. By the time I had the camera set up a jet had flown across the sky, I felt that the resultant contrail ruined the shot and decided to wait for it to dissipate.
There must have been no wind at 30,000 feet because half an hour later I was still waiting.
Then I realised that the contrail nicely mimicked the shed's fallen timber slab, so I exposed the film.
Why "One Owner, Needs Work"?, well the shed was built by the current owner's ancestors so if it hasn't exactly had one owner it's certainly been owned by the same family, and it sure needs work.
