Jim: You certainly had some nice early morning light.

May I ask which film you used to catch this unique image?

All natural images are analog. But the retina converts them to digital on their way to the brain.

    Bob,

The image was taken using Velvia 50. I ended up over exposing by about 1/3 of a stop, but surprisingly, the film actually held the detail in the snow well enough. Also, it's an evening image. The hike up to the vantage point nearly killed me. It was an 800 foot climb in elevation through 18 inches of snow and underbrush. Thank goodness I gave myself plenty of time to get up there.

Here's a couple from the Grand Canyon to compliment Jim Becia's fine image.

Stormy sunrise at the canyon. Almost missed this one while drinking coffee in the Yavapai Lodge parking lot. The storm was heavy enough to mentally write off making a photograph, then the OMG moment, running to the car, grabbing the 4x5 and setting up the shot. All in about 3 minutes.

This one was a more leisurely one about mid-morning from Grandview Point.

St. Germain-en-Laye, France, Early December. Chamonix 4x5. This was taken as the snow started turning to freezing rain.
