    William Garnett/San Francisco Exhibit

Scott Nichols Gallery in San Francisco is currently exhibiting the aerial photography of William Garnett. The exhibition closes February 26, 2011. Well worth a visit, the work is stunning!

    His work was, indeed, special.

Being in a profession that uses aerial photography, I've seen a lot of it over the past
    30+ years.

It was really refreshing to find his work and see an artistic flair applied to the practice.

I have a couple of his books - it's a shame that they seem to be out of print now.

I've seen other "artistic" aerial work of late that is rather mundane ( not to mention of mediocre print quality ), and lacks his keen sense of balance and composition.

Thanks for the notice Merg - If I'm in the City while it's still up I'll definitely check
    it out.

    Regards,
    Terry

Bill, glad you checked in. I thought you might be lurking out there.

My first memory of your dad was in the early 1950's when he buzzed Brett and Cole Weston's houses on their Garrapata Canyon property.

I saw him over the years and will always remember his stellar exhibit at the Elliot Gallery in S.F. in 1979 or 80.

    Terrific work, a real inspiration!

    Cheers,

    Merg
