    (the U2) Joshua Tree

Can someone please tell me GPS or directions to the U2 Joshua Tree? What area of the park is it in? I understand that it's collapsed of natural causes but I'd still like to see it. thank you!!

Don't worry- there are about 10 million or so more Joshua trees currently standing in the California desert that are just as nice as the U2 Joshua tree.

This one isn't a Joshua Tree, it's a juniper. It is however in the park.

Ye ask and Ye shall receive. The tree is near Darwin, but as others said, it is dead. I drove by there a bunch of times. I wish I knew it was there before it fell.

Nice photo, Ed. That rock column reminds me of columns I photographed in Nambung Park in Western Australia years ago!.

Thanks Patrick. Wow, I ASSUMED that it was in JTNP! It's actually on my way from DV to Lone Pine so I should be able to park at the side of the road and have a quick look...

Those coordinates are for the actual tree location? Where did you find them?

The Bristlecone pines in Inyo National Forest are 5,000+ years old.

There is a plant in Arizona that is 15,000 years old.
