Simple -- for communication and sharing images. Just because I reconize the screen's limitations does not mean I will not use the medium for my stated reasons.
Asher -- For the purpose of examining images, the computer screen can get that 98% you spoke of. But as for comparing screen images to my prints, one would be lucky at 33%, IMO.
Hopefully I will be able to track down a copy of a photo I have been wanting to share for awhile -- and get myself back on track/topic here!

no bad, and thanks for the nice words Asher!!!!!! Anyways, I use the Large Format Photography Forum pic uploader to upload my images, that is why they are in 'thumbs' format, it is frustrating. I was using hosts like photo bucket to just post the images without the "thumbs" mess, but photo bucket has removed so many of my photos, i don't deal with them anymore. I also post pics less than 1000px wide on forums because of the potential that I might sell or run the image for a client at a later date...
