I landed from the Himalayas (Everest) to Scandinavia. I am onto the 35mm, MF and LF (4x5) photography and would like to get ahead with 8x10. I am hopeful that I shall learn a lot from the fabulous members here.
I am currently involved on my own documenting photographically an endangered tribe with only 59 persons left as a part of the multivariant regression analysis of the vulnerabilities of a human population for their extinction.
Besides, I am involved with fine art photography. Recently, I experimented with a self-made camera (out of a shoebox) inspired by Talbot, LeGrey and Eakins. The results were outstanding. I am going to release my experiences with my experiment through limited editions of the 20"x24" print.
I would like to learn from the users here about the best for 8x10 LF photography in terms of gears, darkroom techniques and printing. I am open to your feedback for my quest.
Welcome to group therepy, Zenny! Hope you find lots of useful info here; though the site is dedicated to LF use, you'll find that most of the folks around here shoot and enjoy several formats.
I had been with 4x4 and 35mm film for a long period of time before I started digital, but like you said digital does not quench my thirst for perfection.
