de vere 504 enlarger - what power supply?

Hi. I need some information. I have a de Vere 504 enlarger with a Mark III DICHROMAT head. but I have no power supply for the head. Does anyone have any info on what it needs? I also have a de Vere 504 Cl.osed Loop Duplicating unit, which has a de Vere SWITCH STAB 250 power supply I'm guessing that subject to changing connectors on the Switch Stab 250 this power supply will correctly power the Dichromat head.

Does anyone know if my guess is correct

If you have any info that might help I'd be very grateful

de vere 504 enlarger - what power supply?

    Frank,

I have a Devere 504 with the color 500 computer and the Dichromat 4 color head which is 250 watt 120 volt. The entire setup uses the 203/504 trans stab unit.

Your assumption may be correct that the "Switch Stab 250" unit you have may work, perhaps it is an older version trans stab. I know of no reason why it would not as the Dichromat heads came in a 250 watt model and a 500 watt model. I am assuming your Mark III head is a 250 watt unit. I still have several original brochures and component listings on their series of enlargers and I haven't seen one refernce to a Mk III head but they do list the following:

Mk II dichromat for 203 enlarger (250 watt) Mk IV dichromat for 504 enlarger (250 watt) Mk V dichromat for 504 enlarger (500 watt) Mk II dichromat for 507 enlarger (500 watt) 5108 dichromat for 5108 enlarger (1500 watt) They also made some additional heads for the 8x10 (108S) that are higher wattage and voltage and also a couple heads for horizontal enlargers.

It sounds like the Switch/Stab 250 unit you have might work with your Dichromat but I'm not certain about that.

They made transformers, timer/transformers, and transformer/stabilizers and also timer/tranformer-stabilizers.

    Hope this helps.
